Yoyo, 2020, wood, textiles, plaster, tape, watercolor, tea, wax, string and seashell, 48.5 x 32"

Yo-yo investigates the structure and materiality of painting. A thick plaster slab is mounted to a delicate and transparent textile, serving as the canvas. The work bounces between surface and object, image and form.

The title refers to the banality of the everyday experience- keeping our anxieties at bay, while hoping for something new.
